How wonderful were those days at Rosary School, Santhome, Madras of the 1970s when our Girl Guides teacher taught us this song immortalised as the song that represents all of my hope that I have for the great event called life.
Do what you do do well Girls!
Do what you do do well!
Give your life and all of your heart and
Do what you do do well!
And this is what our Kavip Perarasu Vairamuthu, contemporary poet and lyricist of a great manyTamil movie songs, writes in a nutshell :
Thaer izhuththalum theruk koottinalum sevvanae saeyvaen - Whether I were to draw the chariot or whether I were to sweep the street, I would do what I do well
Last week was the gut feeling of uneasiness due to the change of workplace and now the true me has bounced back - the me of optimism and the little Girl Guide studying in Grade 6, who sang the song with feel from the bottom of her little fluttering heart.
Thanks to my teachers!
- Good..
